Your registration for the Philosophy of Psychedelics Conference qualifies you for a 25% discount on a pre-conference Holotropic Breathwork workshop offered by Dreamshadow Group, a conference sponsor.

This workshop is scheduled to begin with an evening introductory talk on Tuesday, April 14, continue all day with breathwork sessions on Wednesday, April 15, and conclude with discussion and wrap-up Thursday midday, April 16.

We encourage all conference participants to attend the Holotropic Breathwork workshop. It offers the possibility for substance-free, psychedelic experience and serves as important experiential preparation for the Conference, with the potential for deepening the discussion of the topics presented. Psychedelic philosophy importantly seeks to recapture the spirit of the ancient Greek rites that provoked the mystical understanding of Plato and other ancient philosophers.

Holotropic Breathwork was developed by pioneering psychedelic therapist Stanislav Grof, M.D., and his wife Christina Grof to continue his research after LSD was criminalized in the U.S. A series of synchronicities yielded a method that combines group process, intensified breathing, evocative music, focused bodywork, and expressive drawing in a safe setting to facilitate exceptional experience. Holotropic Breathwork leads not only to deepened self-awareness, but also to community feeling that individual psychedelic therapy without group integration may lack.

To help create a safe setting, all participants for this workshop are asked to review these health cautions: Holotropic Breathwork may involve intense and energetic emotional release and is not advised during pregnancy, or for persons with cardiovascular problems, glaucoma, epilepsy, or an unresolved history of psychiatric hospitalization.
